Castelsardo:
This small Sardinia seaside centre is situated on the summit of a rocky promontory in a fortified position overlooking the port; for its location has been defined "Nest of Eagles". It's a rare and beautiful pearl set in the centre of Gulf of Asinara, with the characteristic bay of port of Frigiano with the Spanish Tower at its entrance.

History:
Castelsardo was founded by the Doria family of Genoa in 1101 - 1102; dating back to this period, the visitor can still see the castle named "Castel Genovese" . The main architecture of the Castel was represented by the "Cinta delle Muraglie", "Quartiere", "Palace of Nicolò", the little Church of Santa Maria, all still today in a discrete state of conservation.
In the interior of the castle, we find the weaving Museum which has an important collection of basketwork items made from palm fronds.

Rich of meanings and values, the Saint Week of Castelsardo mixes religion, art and culture. Most interesting Sardinia Easter procession begins from the Church of "S. Maria delle Grazie" to come back in the same place: is the ceremony of "Lunissanti", that dates back to Middle Age and still today conserves all its ancient ritual.
